The BMW Group’s MINI brand has been hugely popular in San Francisco since the retro classic’s reintroduction with the 2002 model year. Initially, service and sales of the brand were conducted out of corner of space carved out of the BMW store. Over 10 years later, the MINI brand in San Francisco now claims the largest MINI showroom anywhere in the world.

Located at 799 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco’s historic auto row, the MINI of San Francisco sales facility was adapted in 2015 to incorporate a small Fast Service maintenance center. In addition to the main “Full Service Center”, the Fast Service Center offers customers an second option for oil, brakes, tires and other quick maintenance items.

Still, growth of both the BMW and MINI brands in the San Francisco market has been significant in the midst of the local tech driven economy. In April 2016 after a state of the art remodel, MINI of San Francisco opened its first all MINI Full Service Center, moving MINI completely out of the BMW campus. The new Full Service Center, located on Mission at 7th Streets in the heart of San Francisco’s mid-Market area is a showcase of the MINI brand and is designed for maximum technician efficiency.
MINI’s move has left space for an expansion of BMW Service which now has capacity for 58 technicians after MINI vacated 16 work stalls. The BMW of San Francisco service department hopes to use the additional capacity to drive down customer wait times, increase customer satisfaction and to further grow the brand in the marketplace.
